Research - The systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions

During my time as a graduate student at UGA I have been involved in several extensive research projects. The projects have afforded me the opportunity to improve my research skills, present the research, and become more knowledgeable about the research process in general. The information presented below lists the various conference presentations and research groups I have been involved with.

I have pariticipated in a research group focused on Distance Education that is comprised of myself, other gradaute students, and one faculty member, Dr. Janette Hill. The Best Practices research group was formed so that we could discuss issues and concerns within the vast distance educational community. As a result of my involvement with the group we have conducted several studies focused on K-12 education, higher education, and corporate training. Several of the publications and conference proceedings, and presentations were born out of that group.

As a member of the Learning and Performance Support Laboratory (LPSL), I have been afforded the opportunity to conduct additional research in the K-12 environment, specifically with school reform. I served as a Graduate Research Assistant on several projects which focused on mathematics in the elementary and middle school. My experiences in the LPSL have provided me with abundant knowledge on all aspects of the research process - from large scale National Science Foundation (CoSTAR) funded projects to those funded by the State of Georgia (TIM).

My particiipation in these research projects has allowed me to attend several conferences to share what I have learned and interact with my peers from other institutions. Below you will find selected publications and presentations I have been apart of over the past few years.
